Danger in your home can be real – RADON
We are surrounded by natural radioactive elements. These elements are quite dangerous in large qualities for the human health. RADON together with its half-decay products - plumbum, bismuth and polonium - is the most dangerous substance. Fortunately, most radon content contained in the air we breathe in is exhausted while breathing out, still even a small radon quantity can provoke radiation contamination when in contact with lungs. RADON is the second reason for the total lung cancer cases worldwide. RADON is a colorless, odourless, testless natural radioactive gas. It is produced by the decay of uranium in soil. RADON is released into air or accumulates in poorly ventilated areas inside a house.
There are some ways to mitigate RADON. The most effective way is to install ventilators and special impermeable barriers. It is strictly recommended to arrange basement ventilation.
2 ways of RADON Extraction installation in the building
Outdoor installation. No noise inside and easier installation of the ventilation duct. The VENTS VK-AntiRADON fan is fixed on the outside wall. The polluted air is extracted on the roof level, so the air duct must be located at least 10’ away from windows. The fan must be electrically insulated and labeled.
